Teaching colleague, golf buddy, good friend. But most noteworthy was his always upbeat attitude and positivity. The glass was always half full for Gerry, even when it was really near empty. Always the life of any party he attedned. Gerry had the heart of a true salesperson (and I mean that if the best of ways). We will miss him.

The Measure of a LIFE How do we measure a LIFE Is it the bridges created? Or the forgivenesses bestowed? Is it The smiles that are reflected? Or The warmth of a kind, encouraging word? Fullness is a measurement One covets a full life Family, academics, adventure, spirit Gerry was truly blessed with a full life. Uncle Gerry cheers to a Full life! I remember Uncle Gerry sweeping onto the west coast to see his sister Janet and family, he would enter the kitchen, share and help to prepare a new recipe. One of my fondest is, roasted garlic and Brie. Uncle Gerry always had a trick or treat up his sleeve. Thank you for the smiles and laughter! Wishing you eternal peace Love Julie

Jack and I always enjoyed our visits with Gerry. He had a sharp mind, quick wit and generous spirit. He is at peace now and probably enjoying a good joke, scotch and cigar with Jack in Heaven. My sincere condolences to Veronica, Matthew, Chris, Katherine, Michael, Jamie and their families. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Gerry was one of my faculty members at Ivey and I have wonderful memories of his passion for being at the front of the class! He pushed hard but with humour and a clear love of what he was doing. Rest in peace Gerry. My thoughts go out to your family.

Gerry was a terrific colleague at the Ivey Business School since he was always pushing the boundaries of learning. Students will fondly remember when he wandered into my Strategy class in a bewildered fashion, looking lost - the perfect Columbo. We would have a bit of an exchange and then when I would ask him who he was looking for, he would name the protagonist in the case and announcing he was representing the bank and about to call the loan. The audible gasp from the students was matched by the room heating up in an instant, and the students starting to squirm as Gerry began to elevate the crisis nature of the case. That was the first in a two part case and when Gerry returned as the banker in the next class, the students were on the hot seat. Gerry was in his element! On a personal front, Gerry was also instrumental in encouraging my family to play golf. We always enjoyed a round with Gerry. His positive spirit was infectious – we will miss him dearly.

I know that Gerry will be missed deeply by everyone at KMW. Gerry's stories, jokes and anecdotes made working at KMW fun. I learned a lot about business and life from him. It didn't matter that you had heard the same story 3 times before, with Gerry's laughter and enjoyment in telling stories it was always entertaining and informative. I will always remember Gerry talking about his family and strange animals running around the house, as well as the rising price of copper. Rest in Peace Gerry, and enjoy your time fishing and looking over us.

Over the years, Gerry became an important part of our family. Gerry never failed to ask how my wife and daughter were doing and I always found a reason to want to speak with, or see, Gerry. To me Gerry was one of my best friends. At times he also was an older brother that I never had, and the father that I wished I had. His laughter was contagious, and he always found a way to relate a story from him life to what was happening at the time. I had the pleasure of traveling with Gerry to Malaysia, Trinidad & Tobago, and Suriname. As difficult as the travel conditions were sometimes, Gerry pushed through with a smile on his face and enough jokes to keep everyone happy. Gerry loved his family and couldn’t speak enough about how proud he was of his children and how much he cherished his grandchildren. I always looked forward to coming up to London to see Gerry. I knew it was going to be a fun trip even before I left home and I knew I would return home with new stories about Gerry. Rest in Peach my dear friend.

You'll be missed uncle Gerry. You delighted in showing us your witty humour whenever possible. We may have groaned but we also definitely laughed (with you). ❤️ Love Victoria.
