Mazzotta, Giuseppe It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, Giuseppe Mazzotta. Gone to be with our Lord on January 15, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Lucia Mazzotta (2005). Dearly loved by his children: Elizabeth Roberts, Maria Michienzi (Antonio), Susan Nicoletti (Anthony), Cathy Hird (Lindsay), Carmela Mendonca (Frank), Patricia Babington (Bret), Peter Mazzotta (Ines), and Jo-Anne Hollis (Brian). Cherished nonno to his 19 grandchildren and adoring bisnonno to his 10 great grandchildren. Beloved brother of Sebastiano Mazzotta (Ines) Carmelina Lorusso, Maria Grasso, Bettina DeSumma (Antonio) and Antonio Mazzotta. Predeceased by his parents, Pietro and Elisabetta Mazzotta, his sister, Caterina Michienzi and his grandson, Michael Roberts (2016).. Zio Peppino will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. Giuseppe was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for over 52 years. He was devoted to the Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at St. Mary’s and never missed a day for 18 years. His trust in God was unwavering and in his later years he would say with conviction, “Il mio dovere l’ho fatto, quando il Signore mi chiama sono sempre pronto.” Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held. A memorial mass will take place at a later date. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Country Terrace for their kindness and the medical teams at University Hospital for the exceptional care they provided.
