Obituary of John Cervoni

CERVONI, Giovanni Born June 24, 1924 in Ceprano, Italy and passed away peacefully on January 12, 2021 at Henley Place in London, Ontario. Giovanni Cervoni, dear husband of the late Enrichetta Cervoni (1997). He is survived by his children Anna Di Ponlo (the late Guglielmo), Joanne Landowski (the late Chester), Amelia Mellace (Pino), Giuseppe "Joe" (Karen) and Carla Trembley. Loving grandfather of Carlos, Amanda (Allan), Melissa, David (Karolina), Guido, Stefania (Nicholas), Johnny, Gina, Evita, and Tessa. Adoring great grandfather of Adam, Nick, and Stella. Predeceased by his parents Carlo and Antonietta and siblings Benedetto, Giuseppe, Umberto, Amelia, Ardvino, Armando and spouses. And numerous nieces and nephews in Canada, Italy, and Brazil. Giovanni came to Canada from Italy in 1961 to make a better life for his family. He was a very active member in the Italian community. He coached the Marconi Soccer Team and led them to win the Ontario Cup. He became president of the Marconi Club of London and served on their committee for several years. He was very involved with St. Mary’s Church in London where he directed many Italian plays and was an usher for many years. He also received the Queens Medal for his many years of community service. We would like to thank the staff at Henley Place for their care over the years. Thank you to U.H. emergency staff for their excellent care of our father. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private funeral service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 11:00 o’clock. In lieu of flowers donations to the Marconi Club of London or the Alzheimer’s Society London and Middlesex would be appreciated.
