Obituary of Lydia Marshall McKee

McKee, Lydia On Wednesday, October 7th our wonderful mom said her final goodbye. We were so fortunate in these times to be able to be with mom during her final days and help make this journey a true family affair. Mom was 94 years of age and had a full and rewarding life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid gardener with both inside and outside plants. She was an accomplished seamstress throughout her life. She would crochet and knit beautiful afghans, sweaters, mitts and socks. Her needlework was exquisite and her imagination and creativity boundless. She raised 8 children over the course of 4 decades, often on her own due to dad's work commitments and never complained. We know that Dad has welcomed her to heaven and we have comfort knowing they are together once again. Mom leaves behind 7 children: Judy (Ken) Vardon, Janet (Marty) Smye, Jill Ritchie, Jennifer (David) Jackson, Jean (Bob) McDowell, Robert and Jason (Jody) Mckee Mom was predeceased by her cherished husband Bob, her daughter Joyce (Peter) Traxler and her daughter in law Jill Marie (Robert) Mckee. Mom has 20 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren creating a legacy of family to carry on her memory. Since mom was a cancer survivor anyone wishing to make a donation in her name are asked to consider the Canadian Cancer Society. Due to COVID-19 Restrictions a private family gathering will take place on Monday, October 12th. Rest in Peace Mom... we will continue to love you to the end of our days... your family
