My favorite picture of my mom and her great granddaughter Marley when they both visited me in Vancouver .
She was 89 at the time and was able to make the journey on her own. She loved Vancouver and we spent lots of time walking around Stanley Park, Queen Elizabeth Park and Van Duesen Gardens.

Irene, Just wanted to let you and your family know you are in my thoughts. I remember often seeing your Mom outside your home on Wharncliffe Road always tending to things. It seems she lived a wonderful full life and had many great talents. May your many beautiful memories of her be a comfort to you at this time. Brenda Sharrard

So many wonderful memories of Grandma Mary! Brian and I were so lucky to have been able to spend so much time with you when we were little - sled rides to the bus stop, making snowmen with carrot noses and your hand-knitted scarves, you showing us how your teeth popped out, your famous mashed potatoes for lunch every day, and the occasional threat of getting our “shega” spanked. We’ll never forget how you were the life of the party at Brian’s wedding (and neither will his friends - they hardly believed us when we told them your age!) I’m so glad that you were able to meet Charlie. Lots of love from Jackie, Chris, and Charlie

Goodbye, Mary, after 97 interesting years you will be missed. The best mother-in-law a man could wish for, you were a delight to see and listen to. I have missed your great Hungarian cooking, your wonderful sense of humour, your adventurous spirit and your love.
