Obituary of Lidio Pierotti
Lidio Pierotti
It’s with deepest regret that we announce the passing of Lidio Pierotti on June 18, 2020 in his 90th year. He has now joined his wife Luciana of 43 years and is the proud father of David (Lisa), Paola and Michael (Bonnie) and proud nonno to Connor, Juliana, Luke and John. Born in Orciano di Pesaro, Italy on February 13, 1931 to his parents Marino and Margherita. Lidio was one of 9 children, Iole Reginell (the late Alvaro), Monsignor Alessandro, Marianna Pierantoni (Vito), Roberto (Gabriella). Predeceased by siblings Adelciza Sorcinelli (the late Guido), Aurora Bacchiocci (the late Ino), Guiseppe (the late Maria), and Quinto (the late Pina). He will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews in Italy and Luxembourg. He would tell many stories growing up on the farm in Italy during and after WWII. The story he loved telling the most was; while working in Luxemburg he went out after work with friends to have a drink, they were discussing “moving to Canada” and how they needed to pass a physical, he took a bet that he could pass and with ease he was the only one who did, he packed his bag and arrived in 1960. A few years later, he went back to Italy and married Luciana and together in Canada they built a family and a new home construction business. Lidio loved his garden, playing cards at the Marconi club, fishing, hunting and making his homemade wine but most of all he loved his family and lived life his way. A private entombment will take place at St Peter’s Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
