Mrs. Davis, Jan, Kevin and Patti ....... so sorry to hear of the passing of Coach. If memory serves, he first coached me in 1965, helping in the House League, then I'm not sure how many years in Tyke, Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget, helping us win a few All-Ontarios ! I have spoken many times throughout the years about Bob to guys I played ball with after leaving Dorchester, telling them how much we played (and camped) during those summers, in Owen Sound, Hamilton, Wheatley, Smiths Falls, Leamington, as well as all over the London area.
Without a doubt, Bob was the most knowledgeable, pushy (especially when we were 9 years old !), fun coach I had, even through playing in the Major Intercounty League for a number of years. The thing I remember most were the drills ! Watching a ball game now, as soon as a ball is hit, I know exactly where ALL the players on the field should move to, because of Bob's drills.
I will try to drop in and say Hi next time I am in Ontario.
Best Wishes
Mike Kosmack

Dear family and friends of dear Bob. On behalf of all the Eucharistic Ministers at Victoria Hospital, I would like to express my sincere condolences. I am saddened to hear of Bob's death, without an opportunity to thank him one last time for his faithful and faith-filled ministry to patients at Victoria Hospital for so many years. May Bob now rest in peace and may he continue to rejoice in the gift you, his family, have been. May the good Lord strengthen and comfort you.
United with you in your pain and in prayer.
Sincerely,
Sr. Magdalena

As a parishioner of St. Justin's it was hard not to know Bob and Jean. Once they knew you you had to watch out because you would be 'invited' to something they were involved with, for me it was many years in Alpha. I have many happy memories of Alpha, their commitment to ensuring this program happened there, spreading God's message and fellowship. Bob was our laid back MC and organizer. He was a reader, they organized one of the oarfish directories, those our the things I remember if the top of my head. He was a true and faithful servant, Jesus' arms are wide open welcoming Bob to Heaven with a big hug! This is when I hate this pandemic as I would love to be part of the churches Celebration of Life for Bob. My sincere sympathy for your deep loss, but you all know he believed in life after death...he is in a happy place...may this bring you comfort.

I can't believe it. This gentle soul has gone back home. This light burning brightly with the love of Christ for all of God's children is back with the Father. The world will never be the same. Our little parish will never be the same. Bob was always there with a welcoming smile, comforting hug and words of wisdom, whenever someone was in need. I will never forget his caring, devotion and passion for Alpha, where I've met him. It was a treat if he sat at our table during discussions - there was always something profound he'd managed to share. I will miss him!! My thoughts are with Jean and his children (Jan!!). I hope that the thought of reunion with Bob one day in a future, gives you a small measure of comfort.
My sincere condolences
Grace

To Bob,
It took me by surprise to learn of your passing. Because you truly had the genuine smile that one could never picture fading. The kind to not hold back and welcome you as his closest of friends. The kind to care for anyone and everyone who came your way. The kind to selflessly feed a family that's not yours to feed. There's few people with such good in their hearts. And it is my deepest privilege to have met you. Thank you. From my family and I, always.

Thanks for sharing your memories of Mr. Davis. My dad Don Fox used to run with Mr. Davis but we also played against his team in baseball we were the Byron team...and Dorchester was our toughest competitor, but I clearly remember Mr. Davis and my dad shaking hands and smiling after every game no matter who won. Years later when at my sisters baptism at St. Justins, there we were reunited with Mr and Mrs. Davis. He had the same smile and just such kind eyes. My condolences to Mrs. Davis and family , he was such a true, genuine man that will truly be missed. Blessing to all of you. Shari Fox- Burgess.
