Obituary of Joseph Avola

Joseph Vincent Avola Jr., a loving brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 5th, 2015 at the age of 53 after a courageous battle with cancer. Devoted son to his loving mother Mary and the late Joseph Avola (September, 2015). Brother to MaryTheresa (Peter) and Anthony (Kathie). Fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles and cousins as well as his nieces and nephews, David, Erin, Daniel and Isabelle. Joe was a dedicated employee of Patterson Dental for over 22 years, taking great pride and joy in his job and his relationships with his clients. An avid sports fan, Joe was an enthusiastic spectator of hockey, baseball and football. He was also a proud supporter of the 24-Hour Relay. Joe loved spending time with his friends, watching the London Knights or Canadiens, golfing or just hanging out. The family would like to convey their heart felt gratitude for the compassionate, supportive care of the staff at Parkwood Hospital Palliative Care Unit and L.H.S.C. Visitors will be welcomed at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street, London, ON N6B 2N6, on Tuesday December 8th, 2015 from 2 -4 and 7- 9 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Parish, 777 Valetta Street, London, ON N6H 2Y9, on Wednesday December 9th, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. Condolences may be made at www.donohuefuneralhome.ca. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
