Obituary of Mary Catherine Small

Small, Mary Catherine (Kay) 1922-2014 On Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Grandwood Park Retirement Home our mom was called home and reunited with her dear husband Fred (2000). She will be sadly missed by her children, Fred Small (Mary), Doug Small, Cathy "Honey" Sell (Fred), Joan Turner (Ben), Caroline Carbone, John Small (Barb), Mary Dool (Don), Cecilia Walzak (Tim), Bernadette Cassin (Bart), Tom Small (Annie) and Pat Small (Nancy). Loved by twenty eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Dear sister of Caroline Wallace (Howie), Edward French and Harry French. Predeceased by her brothers Pat (Helen), John (Dorothy) and Doug (Eileen) and by her sister Elizabeth Walsh (Basil). Dear sister in law of Helen and Gene McCaffrey, Mary and Ken Allen and Chris Small. Kay had two lifelong friends, Laura Thorne who passed away the same day as mom and Josephine Davis. She will be missed by her neighbour Betty Wilcox and her dear friends Mary White and Pete Cheele. Friends and relatives will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Wednesday, October 29 from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter's Basilica, 196 Dufferin Avenue, on Thursday, October 30 at 10 am with Father John P. Comiskey as celebrant. Private family interment in St. Peter's Cemetery at a later time. Prayers Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Those who wish to honour Kay's memory may do so by making a donation either directly or at the funeral home to Grandwood Park Retirement Home Recreational Department or to a charity of your choice.
