I had the utter privilege of working with your dad for 15 or so years in the Delivery Room at St. Joes. He was a very well-respected gentleman and I will always remember him for his energy, comittment to his profession and his subtle, wry sense of humour. Most of all he was a dedicated family man and I'll never forget how he loved to dance with your mom to Glenn Miller's "Moonlight Seranade" at our Christmas dances. Rest In Peace , Dr. Manners.

I was very sad to learn of the passing of Dr. Manners and so sorry that I missed the announcement. I would very much like to have attended the visitation or the funeral. He delivered all four of our children, which included our triplets. Dr. Manners was special and he treated us all so well. His laughter was very infectious and it was obvious that others in the hospital regarded him with respect and admiration. It was my privilege to have been his patient. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Johanna and Ed Hurd

My condolences on the loss of a wonderful father, husband and physician. He delivered all of my children. He was simply the best in every way, and I will always think of him and his terrific sense of humor- yelling out to me as crossed the crowded waiting room- 9 months pregnant, "Say hello to your boyfriend"...and then you could hear him roar with laughter. Everyone loved him...

We read yesterday in the press of Doug's death. We were connected with him in one way or another for over 50 years. Recently we admired the love and care he gave to Florence for many years prior to her death. He was dearly loved by us and many others. Rest in peace, Doug. Ann Marie & John Harding

My sincere condolences to your family on the loss of your dear Father. Thirty-five years ago, your Dad performed a miracle when he shepherded me through a very difficult pregnancy to give birth to my daughter, Kim. I'll always be grateful for his skill, kindness, compassion and humour.. He leaves a wonderful legacy to all who knew him.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Manners family. I worked with your Dad for many years on the Gynecology ward at St. Joes. His patients adored him and he was so kind to his patients. I think the thing that impressed me the most was his love and devotion to your mother. I had the priviledge of meeting her a few times and saw the love he had for her. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

I worked with your father for a number of years at St. Joseph's in the Delivery Room. I will always remember how he stood up for the staff and made me feel like we were a big family with him at the top. I remember his yearly calls to get your mother's Christmas present and his complete devotion to her. Thank you for sharing him with us,

I have many many fond memories of your Dad and Mom ... wonderful family reunions in the backyard, summers at cottages, New Years Eve celebrations, horse shows at the Ex., and more. They always opened their home to us and made us feel at home! I remember your Dad for his genuine sincerity about all the family, for his honest guidance, his positive outlook, his cigars and most of all his great love for your Mom! It is heartwarming to think they are together again and no longer suffering. Linda, Karen, Lorraine, Doug and families; you remain in our thoughts and prayers, Love Sue and family
