Anne is dearly loved and will be missed by brother Bourke Smith and wife Jane, and her treasured sister-in-law Julaine Tillmann. Pre-deceased by siblings Elizabeth Valin, Frances Young-Kearns, Thomas Smith, Lorna Crawford, Barbara Woods, and Joanne Coghlan. Mom has many nieces and nephews of whom she was extremely proud, loving them all individually and encouraging them along as if they were her own. Her faith was central to her life. Born in North Bay, ON, Mom was a graduate of University of Toronto. Very proud of her northern roots, Mom made a yearly summer trek to Trout Lake with all the young children in tow so that we could all experience what she loved so much. Mom embraced Dad's love of Bayfield where she and Dad had a summer home, surrounded by family and friends. She will live on in the sunsets at the point. She gave us pride in volunteerism, showing by example time and time again, the value of human connection and responsibility, notably RCIA, Big Sisters, Madame Vanier Children Services and May Court Club of London. Mom spent her last four years at Windermere on the Mount where she enjoyed wonderful friendships and kind and warm care. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Souter, her medical team and the compassionate staff at University Hospital, guardian angels for our Mom. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street on Wednesday from 5 - 8 o'clock and on Thursday from 3 - 8 o'clock. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 515 Cheapside Street at Maitland on Friday morning, August 23, 2013 at 11 o'clock. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to Foundation for Fighting Blindness, Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy, Pioneer Park Association, Bayfield, or a mental health charity of your choice, would be appreciated by the family.
