John was truly one of a kind. His sense of humour and his laugh were infectious, making everyone around him laugh as well. Although many years have passed and we haven’t seen one another, I have many fond memories from our younger years, of time spent with John, Noreen and Mike. My heart aches for all of you and your families. He was taken away too soon, and is sure to be sorely missed by all whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace.

We were extremely sorry to hear of John’s passing. Reading his obituary was quite difficult but also brought back many great memories. It very much captures the JK that we will always remember and miss. His kids were his pride and joy and we enjoyed his updates on each of their lives. It is heartening to read comments from others and to see that so many others benefited from having John in their lives as well.
JK, you left us all way too soon but your memory will always be with us and we will never hear a Dylan song without thinking of our dear friend and the night we all went to a concert together.
Marilyn and I send our condolences to Eric, Emma, Erin, Cathy, family and everyone who had the privilege of knowing JK.

Very sad to hear about John's passing. I always enjoyed working with John, he was funny and kind, great stories about corn and Bob Dylan, and it was always great to go for a burger - either Edson Niton Junction or Big Chief in Wallaceburg. My sincere condolences.

To all John’s family and friends, I am deeply sorry to hear of John’s passing. I worked with John for a long time at Banister. He was my go to guy on anything safety, environment, pipeline history even after leaving the industry. Sarcastic humour - he was the best. Every conversation had a deep element of humour but he also shared his deep understanding of so many things. He could easily speak on everything Pipeline, politics, art, music, and of course his travels and trips to the cottage. Rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to the Kirwin family. I worked for John at Banister for several years. He was a true gentleman to work for, more like working for a friend not the boss.
Rest in Peace Ole Buddy.

In addition to working with John for many years at Banister we shared the same April Fools birthday. John always had a great story to tell no matter the topic. He kept things interesting around here and there was never a dull moment. He was one of a kind and will be missed.

Dear Eric, Emma, Erin, Mr. and Mrs. Kirwin, Dave, Mike, Noreen, Chris and families,
I was so terribly saddened to hear of John’s passing. Only fond memories come to mind when when I think of John, and just the mention of his name immediately brings a smile to my face. He brought such joy to those of us who were lucky to have known him. I wish you peace as you learn to live in a world without his joyful spirit.
With love and my deepest condolences,
Karn

I had the pleasure of working along side John for the 5 years I worked at Banister.
He was a mentor, a teacher, a stickler for the rules of safety and a great friend.
John would always have a great story about his childhood or the family member specific gifts he would both give and receive. John had an energy that leaves a lasting impression on your sole once you got to know him. I consider myself fortunate to have stood in his shadow. Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. He will be sorely missed, but Turley never forgotten.
Sincerest Regards,
Matthew George Martellacci
