Obituary of John Rene Dubois Jr
DUBOIS, Dr. John R. “Jack”
Jack made his final exit on December 5th 2023, having led a full and productive life of 92 years. As a practicing child psychiatrist of fifty years, he saw over seven thousand patients. All of his medical (and psychiatric) training was in the U.S.A. He came to Canada when he was invited to be the founding Executive director of Madame Vanier Children’s Services in 1965.
He is predeceased by his wife Mary Lou (Douglas) and survived by his three children John, Patrick and Lou Anne (Carlson), two step children Jeff and Jenifer, and his sister Nancy (Moffitt), and four grandchildren.
Predeceased by his parents John R. senior and Madlyn, and his sister Lois (Pellegrino), and his First wife Mary Lou (Dettinger). At his request he will be cremated and there will be no funeral.
A Celebration of Jack’s life will be held at, 2175 Dalmagarry road, London on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 1pm – 3:30 pm. Donations in his memory may be made to Vanier Children’s Services 871 Trafalgar Street London ON N5Z 1E6 (https://vanier.com/)
