Obituary of Robert James Richardson

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad, Robert (Bob) Richardson, on November 12th, 2023 in his 75th year. Surrounded by his family at home, Bob peacefully checked into heaven’s clubhouse. He lived life to its fullest enjoying countless hours on the golf course, singing, dancing, BBQ’ing and perfecting his garden. Bob led by example with a servant’s heart. His dedication to work and faith could be seen in his 25 years at Liftow and his devoted stewardship to his church, St. John the Divine and the St. Vincent DePaul. Bob was an incredibly loyal and devoted husband, father and friend; married to his beloved “rock”, Cathy Richardson (Loughlin) for 49 years. They built a beautiful life and family together and Bob leaves behind his 4 children: Christopher (Andrea), Kelly (Larry), Jeremy (Sherri), Katie (Nelson) and 10 grandchildren: Emily, Jack, Audrey, Grady, Hugo, Eleanor, Micah, Monico, Leo and Frances, to carry on his legacy of supporting one another and approaching every situation with a humble and kind heart. Bob is predeceased by his parents Art and Betty Richardson and his brother Tom Richardson. Bob will be missed by his 5 other siblings, Jackie, Marylou, Joseph, Phil, Loretta, and their family. We are indebted to the care we received from the healthcare professionals at LHSC and the compassion from the St. Joseph’s Palliative Care team.

Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home at 362 Waterloo St. (at King St.) on Friday, November 17th from 6:00-9:00pm. Prayers at 6:00pm. The Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, November 18th at St. George’s Parish at 11:00am. Inurnment at St Peter’s Cemetery at 2:00pm. Donations can be made to St.John the Divine parish, St.Vincent DePaul.
