Obituary of Bruno Vittorio Sinosic

Bruno Victor Sinosic died peacefully with family by his side at St. Joseph’s Hospice on August 11, 2023.  Bruno was the much-loved husband of Maria Sinosic (Schoonderwoerd) and devoted father to Brian (Carrie) and Christine Sinosic.  He was fiercely proud of his grand-daughters Anna, Allison, and Rachel Sinosic and was the dear brother of Matilde Strnad (Vili) and brother-in-law to Angeline Swart, Joan (Rupp), Joan, Josephine, John (Cecilia), Elly, Clem (Joanne), and Luke Schoonderwoerd. 

He was predeceased by his parents Giuseppe and Euphemia Sinosich, his siblings Dante Sinosic (Giuseppina) and Celestina Greenwood (Frank), his brothers-in-law Jack, Neil, Bill, Tom Schoonderwoerd, Roy Swart, and Dick Moons, his sisters-in-law Jane and Mary Schoonderwoerd and Martha Moons, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Bruno was a proud Canadian, and was grateful to the country which gave him a home and family.  As a photographer, he left a multitude of pictures which will serve as lasting memories.  Bruno found his passion in teaching, and is often remembered by former students for playing the guitar and coaching soccer.  Bruno would often use a handful of Italian words and phrases, so now we say “Dad, Nonno, Uncle Bruno, we love you tanto, tanto, tanto.”

Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo St. at King, in London, on Thursday August 17, 2023, from 2-4pm (prayers at 3:30) and 6-8pm.  Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday August 18 at 11am at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 377 Oakland Ave in London, with Fr. Adam Gabriel officiating.  Private family internment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Dublin.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Participation House Support Services https://www.phsscommunity.com
