Obituary of Teresa Kennedy
Sister Teresita Kennedy (Teresa)
Of the Community of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Diocese of London on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the residence of the Sisters of St. Joseph, in her 89th year of life and 66th year of religious profession.
Lovingly remembered by her sister Donalda, many nieces and nephews, and the members of her religious community. Predeceased by her parents Donald Kennedy and Susan Flood, her sister Mary Catherine, and her brothers William, and James.
Sister Teresita began her teaching ministry in elementary schools in St. Thomas and Sarnia. In 1952 she moved to high school ministry serving at Catholic Central, London, St. Joseph's in St. Thomas, St. Joseph's, Windsor, Fatima Hall and Mount St. Joseph Academy in London. From 1981 - 2001 Sister enjoyed serving as the assistant archivist for the Diocese of London.
A woman of strong principle and deep faith Sister Teresita went home to God peacefully and speedily, with her good friend Sister Mary Electa by her bedside.
All services will be held at the residence of the Sisters of St. Joseph, 485 Windermere Rd., London.
Visitation from 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2012 with Evening Prayer celebrated at 6:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial celebrated on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with Most Reverend John Michael Sherlock presiding.
Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery.
