At London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Campus on Thursday June 3, 1999 Monsignor John B. O'Donnell P.H., B.A., age 80, Roman Catholic Priest of the Diocese of London. Monsignor O'Donnell was a native of Strathroy and was Ordained a priest on May 26, 1945. Monsignor O'Donnell was pastor of St. Mary's, West Lorne, St. Helen's, Wallacetown, Blessed Sacrament, London, Our Lady of Help of Christians, Wallaceburg, St. Joseph's, Chatham, St. Pius X, London, St. Michael's, London, St. Gabriel's, Windsor, St. Peter's Basilica, London, and St. Joseph's Cathedral, Fort Smith, N.W.T. He was the founding pastor of the Regis Club and served on numerous Diosecan and National Committees. Son of the late John O'Donnell and Theresa Guilfoyle. Predeceased by Mary Hilda O'Donnell (infant), Mary Enwright Kelly, Hilda Gallagher, Charles, Leo and Tom O'Donnell. Survived by his sister-in-law Theresa O'Donnell, Ville Ste. Laurent, P.Q. Dear uncle of 16 nieces and nephews, 33 grand nieces and nephews, and 17 great grandnieces and nephews. He will be missed by his many friends, parishioners, and fellow priests who shared and supported him in his ministry. Visitors were received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo St., at King, on Saturday, July 5 and Sunday, July 6, from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Lied in state at St. Peter's Basilica, 196 Dufferin Ave., on Monday morning, June 7, 1999 from 8:30 o'clock where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Most Reverend John M. Sherlock, Bishop of London at 10 o'clock. Interment was in St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers were Sunday evening at 8:30 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Peter's Basilica Building Fund would be appreciated.
