Obituary of Jean Marguerite Stella Patterson

PATTERSON (nee Durand), Jean- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean (Marguerite Stella) Patterson on February 4, 2012 in her 96th year. Jean was one of the first members of Holy Cross Church, Elm Street, and continued to attend services there until she moved to the Blue Water Rest Home in 2006. She was a very active member of the Catholic Women's League for over 60 years and was also a dedicated volunteer for the Saint Vincent De Paul Society. Jean received great pleasure in helping others and served her community extremely well. She always had a welcoming smile to greet old friends or new acquaintances and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Predeceased by her husband Wilfred (Bus) Patterson (March 28, 1999). Dear mother of Anna Marie Patterson, Suzanne Akins and her husband Marion (Luke) Akins. Dear grandmother of Matthew and Traci Akins and Mark and Joanne Akins. Dear great grandmother of Andrew, Madyson, Hannah Lee, Sadie and Heather. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters Maurice, Orland, Phil, Maxime, Richard, Kay Screenen, Pearl Rau, Lilly Roche, Rayburn Gelinas. She will also be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 o'clock. Prayers Friday evening at 7 o'clock. Visitors will also be received at the funeral home on Saturday February 11, 2012 from 9:30 to 10:30 o'clock. The Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Church, 10 Elm Street on Saturday morning at 11 o'clock. Reverend Joseph Seminati officiating. Donations to the Holy Cross Building Fund or the Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated.
