Obituary of Joan Mary Ferris

Predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years John P. Ferris (Sept. 2015). Proud mother of Barbara (Vito) Frijia, Richard Ferris (Michelle Chevalier) and Christopher (Caroline) Ferris. Loving grandmother and sorely missed by her grandchildren Michael, Mark, Daniel, and Lauren Frijia, Jacqueline, Kathryn and Joseph Ferris and Mackenzie Ferris. Dear sister of Margaret O'Brien of Fort Erie and sister in law of Anne Murray of London, Sister Margaret Ferris CSJ of London and Mary Ferris of Sarnia. Predeceased by her siblings Marie (Bill) Dale, Elaine (Peter) Feeney, Jim Murray; her brothers in law Joseph O'Brien and Harry Ferris and sisters in law May (Lorne) O'Meara and Eileen Ferris. Aunt Joan will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and cousins. Joan was a past employee of General Motors Diesel, a member of the Catholic Women's League and an active parishioner of St. George Parish. The family would like to extend a thank you to Jane, staff and volunteers of McCormick Home, in addition to the McCormick Home Outreach Services. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Thursday, December 17th from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Prayers will be held at 2 o'clock. Funeral Mass will be held at St. George Parish, 1164 Commissioners Road West, on Friday at 12 noon. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to McCormick Home Foundation or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
