Obituary of Lambertus Hendrikus Vangoor

Vangoor, Lambertus “Bert” Suddenly but peacefully at LHSC – Victoria Hospital on October 11, 2015 in his 89th year. Devoted husband of Anna (nee Rovers) for 59 years. Loving father of Martin (Marianne) Vangoor, Joanne (Piet) Schoenmaker and Mary (Stephen) Young. Proud grandfather of Carolyn (Tim) Bentum, Christina (Rik) Kool, Alaina (Greg) Vanderleeuw, Paul (Stephanie) Schoenmaker, Yvonne (Marc) Stalder, Mark (Kim) Schoenmaker, Tyler Young and Breanne Young, and to nine great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his grandson Kyle Young (1988). He will be dearly missed by his extended family and friends in both Canada and Holland. Bert immigrated to Canada in 1954 and held multiple jobs before he landed at Silverwoods/Ault/Neslie for the next 35 years. He was an avid gardener, woodworker, card player and traveler. Visitors will be received at John. T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Wednesday, October 14th from 4-7 o’clock. Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Divine Church, 390 Baseline Road West, on Thursday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. John the Divine Church would be appreciated.
