Obituary of John Anthony Dwyer

Dwyer, John Anthony At Parkwood Hospital, London, Ontario on Wednesday April 29, 2015 John Anthony Dwyer "Jack" is survived by his loving wife "Betty" and his children Dennis (Pat), Cathy (Dr. Robert Hardick), Lorie (Dennis Baker), John (Barbara), Margaret (Ken Pettitt), Mary Jo (Walter Barta) and Paul (Kim). He will be sadly missed by his 21 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Richard "Dick" Dwyer. Jack is predeceased by his sisters Dorothy Bundy and Marion Cortese. Jack was a life-long resident of London, Ontario. He grew up on Cummings Ave. in the Blackfriars community and he and Betty raised their 7 children in Old South London. Jack was a veteran of WWII, where he served in the Royal Canadian Air Force and was a P.O.W survivor. He was a member of St. Martin's Parish for 70 years and served as an usher, Minister of the Word, Eucharistic minister, and a member of the Altar Guild. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Thursday evening, May 7th from 6-8 o'clock. Funeral Mass at St. Francis-St. Martin Catholic Church, 46 Cathcart Street, on Friday morning, May 8th at 10 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery.
