Obituary of Roger Guy Harmsworth

Harmsworth, Roger Guy Peacefully at L.H.S.C. - University Hospital with his family by his side on Sunday, April 5th, 2015 aged 85 years. Loving wife of Catherine (nee Cachia) of 60 years. Dear father of Maryanne (Jim) Aitken, Thomas Harmsworth and Robert (Kelly) Harmsworth. Proud poppy of Lynda (Javier) and Jamie (Laurie) Harmsworth, Michael (Monique) and Cameron Aitken, Justin (Holly) Tornabuono, Rachel (Christin) and Rebecca Harmsworth, and to 4 great grandchildren. Roger immigrated from Malta in 1948 and was a long standing member of the London Maltese Canadian Club. He was a lifetime member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers. Working as a brick layer and stone mason, he helped build many familiar structures throughout the city. The family wishes to thank the nurses working on the 7th and 10th floors at University Hospital, especially Sara for giving comfort to Roger and his family. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Mass at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 1 Fallons Lane, on Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery with reception to follow at the Maltese Canadian Club, 70 Charterhouse Road. Prayers Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
