At LHSC - University Hospital surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 29, 2015 Maria Pia (nee Gaiotto) Barbon at the age of 78. Loving wife of Alberto Barbon. Cherished mother of Luigi (Deborah) Barbon, Renato (Cory) Barbon, and Franco (Kathryn) Barbon. Proud Nonna of Stephen, Alicia, Mia, Bryce, Benjamin, Joshua and Michael. Dear sister of Dilva (late Mario) Artico, Elide (Marco) Voltarel, Eda (Delfino) Paro, Luciana (Albino) Comin, Gino (the late Giuseppina) Gaiotto, and Carmelo (Vittorina) Gaiotto. Predeceased by her parents Ugo and Maria Gaiotto. Dear sister in law of the late Antonio Barbon, Gildo (Ida) Barbon, Giuseppe (Vilma) Barbon, Natalina (Virgilio) Gheller and Mario (Grasiella) Barbon. Zia Pia will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. As a wonderful cook Maria welcomed many family and friends into the Barbon home where they would enjoy her delicious meals and desserts. Maria was dedicated to her family and always hard working whether in the kitchen or in the garden. Maria will forever be in our hearts. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Monday, February 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, 345 Lyle Street, on Tuesday morning, February 3rd at 11 o'clock. Entombment in Holy Family Mausoleum, St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock.
