Passed away peacefully at 88 years of age surrounded by family at McCormick Home on Sunday, December 14, 2014. As a young widow Berneida devoted her life to raising her two children. Berneida will be missed by her children Tom Halpin (Carol) and Barbara Dwyer (John). As Nana, Berneida wil be missed by her grandchildren Tom Halpin IV (Heather), Ann Catherine Pattie (Frank), Marie VanderWerp (Dave), John Halpin (Allie), Liz Messenger (Karl), all of Michigan, Mary Kay Bloor (Kris), Jerry Dwyer (Michelle), Martha Dwyer, all of London and 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Dear sister of Jean DeAngelis, Rita Gillespie, and Dr. Patrick Clancy (Margaret). Berneida was born in Thamesville, Ontario the youngest of 8 children. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Thomas S. Halpin Jr.; her sisters Margaret Kirshin and Kathleen Wallace; her brothers Robert Clancy, and Father Bede Clancy OFM. In 1991 Berneida retired from Anesthesia Associates of London as a medical secretary. As a devout Catholic she was a member of St. Martins Church for over 50 years where she served at as an extraordinary minister. She was also a long time member of the C.W.L. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Thursday, December 18th from 2-4 and 6-8 o'clock. Prayers Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Funeral Mass at St. Francis-St. Martin Catholic Church, 46 Cathcart Street, on Friday morning at 11 o'clock. Private interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Crohn's and Colitis Foundation (www.crohnsandcolitis.ca) or the Alzheimer Society (www.alzheimer.ca) would be appreciated.
