Vail…1985…I decided to get the V.I.P. tour with Red and Marg. I am 30 years younger than Red, let's see if they can keep up to me. The sun is out the air is thin but this should be easy skiing with these "older" people. JEEZ wait for me!! I couldn't keep up to both of them!! They both skied me into the ground!!! Our family joined Devil's Glen in 1968 and Red was a fixture at the club. Even last season Red would always ask how I was, how's business? I would always get a kind smile and "Atta boy….good for you!" The snow will fall, the chairs will turn but it won't be the same.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Marg, Sean and Bev and the boys, and the members of the McConville family we have not yet had the privilege to meet. We met Red and Marg as neighbours of son Sean, but soon were made to feel like old friends since they always greeted us with a welcoming warmth that included a hug and usually a joke or a funny little anecdote. We will miss that terribly. Like to think that Red is hunkered back in his favourite chair, Erin and Duke at his feet , keeping watch over his beloved wife, the children of whom he was so proud and the grandchildren about whom he loved to talk. I remember Red's great spirit and warm friendship on the many ski trips to Vail I made with the December group. They were great times, and we have missed him in recent years. My sincere condolences to the family. Ski heil, Red.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your dad and wonderful husband. I was thinking today the influence that Red had on our lives.When I was swimming, Red always looked me in the eye and said believe in that what you know you can do in your heart. He gave encouragement without judgement. He often knew potential before your knew it yourself. I remember Red at our wedding. He cam up to Jim and I and said "This is forever, do what you need to do to make it last." We were blessed to have Red be a part of our lives. I know the loss is incredibly painful.
