Obituary of Monica Farwell

Passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital on Saturday, August 16, 2014. Monica was in her 90th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Fred Farwell (2005). Loving mother of Bill (Diana) Farwell, Mary Lyn (Tom) Thompson, Michael (Wendy) Farwell, and Patti (John) Ciriello. Devoted Grandmother of Greg (Amy), Christopher, Stephen (Sherry), Robert, Richard (Victoria), Michael, Ryan, Sean, James, Monica and Patrice. Dear sister-in-law of Eva Purtill, Cecelia Farwell and Bill Watson. Also survived by 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Robert and Evelyn Purtill and brother Jim Purtill. Monica graduated in 1946 from the St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Toronto and worked as a registered nurse in London for many years. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Tuesday August 19, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Church, 377 Oakland Avenue at Dundas Street on Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Donations in memory of Monica may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. A Special thanks to Dr. Karin Hahn and the C7 nursing staff at Victoria Hospital for their compassionate care of our mother.
