Rob, Rick and families... Sending a hug your way. Have such fond memories of both your parents! Bowling with them, visiting your family home.... Would like you to know that they made a big impact on our lives. When your Dad passed at such a young age it motivated John and I to live for today. We are in Mexico, helping others for that reason. Your mom's lively spirit was so motivating to me personally. After Ray died Hankie and I often worked similar shifts in SPD. She missed Ray so much and about every two or three weeks we would go out for dinner at Tony's in East London and eat Panzerotti. We would laugh that all that fried, stuffed pasta would make us too fat to get through the doors at work.
These dinner dates for two gave Hankie a chance to reminisce about Ray and all the staff parties and dinners we both attended with our spouses/partners. We laughed and gossiped about all of the drama at work and supported each other through our sadness (I had just separated from my life partner).
Hankie and I were friends for over twenty years, and when moved out West to Nanaimo she came out to visit me. I will always miss her loving smile, her laughter, all the jokes we shared and the wonderful way that she had of always making people feel special. Her generosity knew no bounds for people she cared about and Hankie often brought treats in to work: smoked salmon and her special lolly-pops.
My heart hurts that such a golden, special light has passed from the world. I will love her forever and I am proud to have been her friend. I will always remember her long, lovely hair that she often wore braided and coiled around her head like Princess Leia in the early days of our friendship. When she cut it short she said that Ray hated it but she rocked that look! Love you Hankie. You will always have a special place in my heart. Always.

Henrietta was a very special person, and we were so sad to hear of her passing.
