Obituary of Anthony Joseph Friedrich

Peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of his family, Anthony Joseph "Tony" Friedrich passed away on Thursday, December 7th, in his 70th year. Beloved husband for 48 years to Joan (Van Vaerenbergh). Loving and proud father of Patty and Mark and his wife Janis. Doting grandpa to Kara and Renee. Loyal brother to Bob (Helen) and Dave (Mina). Tony is predeceased by his parents, Steve (2011) and Mary (Fischer, 1992) and his parents-in-law, Prosper (1984) and Helen (Coleman, 1969) Van Vaerenbergh. Caring brother-in-law to Mary (Bill) Paradine, Judy (Rich) Corneil, Barb (Darryl) Handford, Joe (Lori) Van Vaerenbergh, Fran (Bob) Stortz, and Paul (Wilma) Van Vaerenbergh. Tony will be sadly missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews, friends, and colleagues. Many thanks to the staff at the London Regional Cancer Program, Floors C-6 and C-7 at Victoria Hospital, and all the home support staff from SWLHIN, VON, and Paramed for the care and kindness shown to Tony and the family during his illness. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King street on Sunday, December 10th, from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Words of Remembrance will be held at Mary Immaculate Church, 1980 Trafalgar Street, on Monday morning at 10:50 with the Funeral Mass beginning at 11 o'clock. Private family interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Sunday evening at 8:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tony's name to the London Regional Cancer Program or the Mary Immaculate Parish Building Fund.
