My mom Yolande and I will wholeheartedly think of you on Tues pm and Wed (May 3-4, 2016 ), and in the coming months following uncle’s Hugh’s passing. (Mom and I will not be able to attend the funerals.)
My heart goes out to dear Aunt Louise, happily married to her beloved companion for 61 years,
gentle Lauraine, with whom I chatted and felt close at Aunt Mich’s funerals,
reserved Tina whom I haven’t unfortunately seen for many years,
warm-hearted Robert & wife Gisèle,
and generous James who drove his mom to my dad Paul’s funerals three years ago, here in Laval, QC.
I’m giving a big and long hug to you all,
and also to Aunt Marguerite & Uncle Bill, losing a loving brother-in-law,
as to (maybe attending) Uncle Jack, his new wife, and cousins who could make it.
Affectionately, with my sympathies,
Patricia Beauregard XX XX XX XX XX XX
(My 17 year-spouse Bernard Gauthier also offers his deep felt condolences)

Dear Aunt Louise, cousins Lauraine, Christina, James and Robert,
We are saddened to hear the news about Uncle Hugh. Although we have not seen him in recent years, we always enjoyed hearing about Moms annual visits to you in London, and all the "escapades" she joined you on...church choirs, playing and singing at home, relaxing outdoors on and around the lake. How she loved those visits! We know it was a real struggle for Uncle Hugh in the recent past, and are relieved to know he is not suffering anymore...but quite possibly collaborating with Marie and Pierre on heavenly music!
I always liked this poem, hope it gives you some comfort too.
"I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says "There, she is gone."
"Gone where?"
"Gone from my sight. That is all."
She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at that moment when someone says "There, she is gone" there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout - "Here she comes!"
by Henry Van Dyke
We unfortunately will not be able to make it to the funeral, but please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
Hugs from Jean-Marie, Debbie, Laura and Stephanie François

Rachel,
Please know my thoughts are with you and your family. Your grandfather sounds like he was a wonderful, talented man and lived a very full life. I now know where you get all that musical talent from!
