Obituary of Kenneth Walter Phillipson
PHILLIPSON, Kenneth Walter
After a courageous four year battle with cancer Ken passed away peacefully
at home Sunday, April 24, 2016 exactly the way he had asked, surrounded
with love with his wife, children & grandchildren by his side. Ken was
born July 11, 1937 London, Ont. He was the most awesome & loving Husband,
Dad & Poppa. He leaves behind his best friend and loving wife of 59 years
Marnie (nee Ogglesby). His very proud & cherished children & grandchildren
Cathy & Dale Matheson (Dane & Dustin), Patrick Phillipson (Cole) & Mark
Phillipson. Dear brother of Jack (Leila), Gary(Shirley) & Peter. Dear
brother-in-law of Joanne Phillipson (late Brian 2009) & Reta Martin (Jim)
and several special nieces, nephews & their families. Our extended & loved family Doug & Nancy Powers & their children Kerigin (Judd ) & Jordan. Predeceased by
his daughters Shelley (1962) & Wendy (1963), his parents Bill (1985) &
Ethel (2002) Phillipson, brothers Norman (1993) & Brian (2009) Phillipson,
sister-in-law Kay Philllipson & brother-in-law Ken Ogglesby. Ken was the
well known owner of Ken-Mar Grocery and Variety stores for 28 years.
Active for 21 years in the Huff N& Puff Senior & Hockey Association,
originator of the Huff N& Puff Hockey annual Christmas food drive, Ken
will be fondly remembered by many members. Ken was also a long term member
of the Knights of Columbus. Ken had a zest for life and lived life to its
fullest, he touched many people's lives and will be missed by many special
friendships he made along the way. A very special thank you to the CCAC &
VON Palliative Care team, especially Ruth & Keersten, and to Dr. S. Tallon
& staff, and Dr. D. Fortin. Visitors will be received at JOHN T. DONOHUE
FUNERAL HOME, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Wednesday from 2-4
and 7-9 o'clock, prayers at 2 pm. Funeral Mass at St Patrick's Church, 377
Oakland Ave, on Thursday morning at 11 am. Cremation has taken place.
Interment in St Peter's Cemetery will be held at a later date with the
immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations to St Patrick Church, The
Children's Cancer Society of London or a charity of your choice would be
