Obituary of Anne Fitzpatrick Higgins Burke

Burke (née Wotherspoon), Anne Fitzpatrick Higgins Peacefully at Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care on Wednesday February 24, 2016, Anne Burke. Loving and devoted wife of Dr. Gerard M. Burke and mother of Christopher (Jennifer) Burke, Paul Burke, Simon (Magrelys) Burke and Fiona Jane Martin Burke (David). Loving grandmother of Shane, Cristina, James, Alexander, Gavin and Lachlan. Predeceased by her sisters Margaret, Lilian and her brother Bill. Anne was a nurse and midwife who was trained at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Her life and work took her to The Clyde, Glasgow, North Middlesex Hospital, London, Nelson House First Nation, Manitoba and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. She loved everything about a day (or several) in the garden with a spade and hoe. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the dedicated nurses and staff at University Hospital and the very kind staff and residents at Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care. A private family Requiem Mass was held at St. Peter's Basilica Cathedral and an interment took place in St. Peter's Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be very much appreciated. Rest In Peace.
