Dennis was a great friend of mine for over 23 years. He was a loyal and devoted brother and son. Kind and thoughtful and generous with his time. I missed him when he left his life in Toronto and moved to London, but we still kept in touch on a regular basis. I respected his devotion to his sister, Judith and admired their bond. His whole intention of moving to London was in hope of Judith joining him, but sadly that was not meant to be. Losing Judith was heartbreaking for him. Both gone too soon. My husband and I always looked forward to his advice and recommendations, when we travelled to the New England States. He always knew all the great, out of the way remote places to see, eat or shop. Whether it be a scenic route, a great little seafood restaurant or fabulous shopping. Dennis never failed us. I loved sending him emails from our trips. Of course, he always had something clever to say in return. I looked forward to his many quips about politics and of course his beloved Leafs. He kept telling me to BeLeaf despite my apprehension to get on that bandwagon. His sarcastic humour never failed to keep me in stitches laughing. And then there were the proverbial comments about the latest escapade at Toronto City Hall. Needless to say, his comments were hysterical and abundant as there was much to comment on. I also appreciated his sage and wise advice. He was always very logical and supportive and was always there for me as a friend. I was shocked to see the news of his passing. I will miss you my dear friend. God bless you and rest in peace.

I knew Dennis, Judith, and Mary Frances when they visited their grandmother, Mrs. Dennis O'Brien and their aunt Miss Frances O'Brien at the O'Brien family home on Church Street in St. Marys. Frances O'Brien was an inspired and gracious English teacher at the St. Marys Collegiate; she often mentioned Dennis and Judith and Mary Fran. They were a wonderful family.
