I felt very sad when I received the email from the GM/GD retirement club about the passing away of Lorne. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I used to work closely with Lorne in the Quality Control and Reliability Department. Lorne was the inspection foreman in Building 10. We had an excellent working relationship. He was my staunch supporter. Lorne was the softest spoken gentleman I ever met and I knew I could always rely on his work. I truly miss him.

I have only good memories of my uncle Lorne...he was always sweet and sensitve, alway smiling and such a good man. all these years that i have not been around so much whenever i would see him or talk to him on the phone he would always remember my kids names and ask about them. in a discussion about something from the past with my now adult children it came to light that they thought their whole lives that his name was uncle Orney...i guess i just always new so it never occurred to me that they were not hearing it right...when u say it, it kinda blends together. we still have a good laugh about that sometimes and they still refer to him as uncle orney! i will miss him, but feel truly blessed that he will be watcing over us all now.

Uncle Lornie would come to a Red Wing game, by bus, in Detroit, but never went to the game. He came to our house and was feeling "WELL", and told my dad that he was going to clean our picture tube on our TV. So , he took it all apart, put it back together, and then went back to London by bus. And we had to watch TV on a 45 degree angle until the next time he came back to Windsor as he put the picture tube in crocked.....Luv that man.....

Loretta and Joe and Manzara Family: I have heard about the death of your dad Lorne and I would like to express my sympathy to all of you. I would like to assure you of my prayers. Special Mass with the intention for your dad and your family will be included this weekend at Holy Angels. I will have the whole parish family to storm to heaven that the Lord will forgive all the imperfections of Lorne and would open the gates of heaven to your dad. I know we have no doubts where he is now. I have heard that Dr. Ott was the doctor that looked after your dad. I know him personally, we even became great friends - when I was having my health issues he was the one that operated on me. Very dedicated doctor I told him that he does have a real calling to be a doctor. Loretta be strong and accept the will of God. Sooner or later we do have to experience the death of our parents and our loved ones. I did experience that already with my parents back in Poland. Once again accept my sympathy personally and share that with your family. Your Friend in the Ministry, Father Gabriel and my faithful assistant Sister Mary Boere

Marion, Karie, Matt and Lindsay; We wish to express our condolences on the passing of your dad and grampa. I know all too well what it is like to lose a loved one so quickly. Cherish the memories which no one can take away from you. I think back a few times I had the opportunity to meet with Mr. Manzara, our conversation made me laugh. I chuckle now as I think of those times. You are in our prayers. Cynthia, Mike and Daniel
