Obituary of Charles Peter Christie

CREST "He was our hero" CHRISTIE, (Charles) Peter Of London, Ontario at the age of 75, passed away peacefully on Friday November 12, 2010 at Parkwood Hospital with family at his side. Peter was the cherished husband and best friend of Pamela (Bishop), dearly loved father of Jeffrey of Thamesville, Michael and his wife Laura (Froats) of London, and Timothy Christie of London. Deeply loved and missed by step-daughter Erin Johnson (Thum) of London, England. Very proud and loving grandfather of Stephanie Waite (Jeff) of London, Lauren Christie of Dashwood, and their mother, Penny de Young of Grand Bend. He was the loving brother of the late Robert Christie (2007), and his wife Marlene of St. Catherines, and Edward (Ted) Christie and his wife Iris (deceased 2008). Survived by his cherished Aunt, confident and friend Laura Thorne and her family; also survived by several neices and nephews and by cousins in the United States and Canada. Devoted and loving son of the late Charles Christie (2000) and Olive (Moir) (1984). Much loved son-in-law of Robert Bishop, Strathroy and Joan Bishop (2007). Peter was kind and loving to a long line of canine companions and is already sadly missed by his adored Bella. proud and dedicated member of the London Fire Department for thirty-five years, retiring as Platoon Chief in 1995. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 o'clock. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church 345 Lyle Street at York Street on Wednesday morning November 17, 2010 at 11 o'clock. Prayers Tuesday evening at 8: o'clock. Private family interment. Donations may be made to the London Humane Society, Parkwood Hospital or London Health Sciences Center.
