Obituary of Giuseppina China

CHINA C.W.L. CREST & PICTURE Peacefully, following a courageous battle with cancer, with her family at her side, Giuseppina (Josephine) China (nee Politti) on Friday September 17, 2010 in her 80th year. Beloved wife of 57 years to Giovanni (John) China. Loving mother of Claudio China and his wife Mary Ann of London, and Michelle (Darren Mack) of East Rochester, New York. Adored Nonna to Dominique, Marco, Matthew and Michael. Dear sister of Emma Bernardin and her husband Rodolfo of London. Zia of Vincenza Belanger and her husband Blair and son Christopher, Andreina China, all of London, and, Giorgio Cristofoli of Italy. Special niece to Emma Bussolin of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Giuseppina was born in 1931 in Sequals (PN) Italy, daughter of the late Luigi and Maria Politti. She immigrated to Canada in 1953, embracing her new country, a gifted seamstress who worked at Artistic Ladies Wear, Hudsons, Fairweathers, Bud Gowan Menswear, and, Lawrence & Monteith. She was an active member of the CWL at both Holy Rosary and St. Michael's Parishes. She was a member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Marconi Club of London and the London and District Fogolar Furlan. She generously served as a dedicated volunteer for many years at Marion Villa and Mount Hope. Giuseppina will be sadly missed by many close family and friends in Canada and Italy. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Sunday, September 19th from 2-4 & 7-9 o'clock. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Church, 511 Cheapside Street , London, on Monday morning September 20th at 10 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Sunday evening at 7 o'clock. In lieu of flowers donations to the London Regional Cancer Program c/o L.H.S.F. would be appreciated.
