Obituary of John Alexander Muir

Muir, John Alexander "Sandy" It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Alexander (Sandy) Muir from pancreatic cancer in his 65th year at Parkwood Hospital on Monday, August 9, 2010. Beloved husband of Sonya Muir for 43 years. Loving father of Dirk Muir (Ottawa) and Jeffrey Muir (Mississauga). Dear son of the late John (Jock) and Nellie Muir. Dear brother of Jim Muir (Guelph) and the late Claire Baker. Dear brother-in-law of Lida Kalinosky (Gatineau-Hull). Sandy will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Sandy served in the Armed Forces for 20 years in the Dental Corps, retiring with the rank of Sergeant. He was a recipient of the NATO Special Service Medal as well as the Canadian Forces Decoration. Following his service in the Armed Forces he worked in the security industry until his retirement in 2009. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, London on Friday evening from 7-9 o'clock where the Funeral Service will take place on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Cremation. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery at a later date.
