Frank John , FCA, in his 87th year. Much loved husband of 50 years of Rita (Tevlin) Welsh (2000). Much loved father of John Welsh (Jane), Maureen Kerr, Peter Welsh (Patti), Paul Welsh (Mary Lee), Stephen Welsh (Brenda), Michael Welsh (Carolin) and Suzanne Mac Isaac. Proud and loving Papa of 15 grandchildren: Lauren and Mark Welsh; Sarah (Joe Hammill) and Michael Kerr; Melissa (Joel Smith), David and Amanda Welsh; John-Paul and Julia Welsh; Emily and Katey Welsh; Matthew and Abigail Welsh, Taylor and Aaron Mac Isaac: and one great granddaughter, Madeleine Hammill. Loved former father-in-law of Michael Kerr and Douglas Mac Isaac. Loved brother of Irene Welsh and Lawrence Welsh (Heather). Brother-in-law of Joseph Tevlin, Francis Tevlin (deceased) and Monica Roe (deceased). Predeceased by his parents David Welsh and the late former Kathleen Lockhart. Frank was a veteran of WWII, serving with the RCAF 434 Squadron. He completed a full tour of Operations, flying 34 missions over occupied Europe (1943-45). Following the war, Frank qualified as a Certified Public Accountant (1950) and later as a Chartered Accountant (1962). He was elected as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1976. Frank was connected with various firms over the years including F.O. Kime; Welsh, Warren, Davis; Gilvesy Enterprises (CFO); Clifford and Welsh and finally, Millard, Rouse, Rosebrugh where he formally retired at age 80. Frank was well known for his volunteer work and commitment to public service. He was a former Trustee and Chair with both the London and Middlesex County and Oxford County Separate School Boards. He was one of the founders of the St. Joseph Health Care Foundation, London. He served multiple terms as a member of Tillsonburg Town Council and was a founding member of the Tillsonburg and District Multi-Service Centre. He was a past Chair of Catholic Social Services. In 2002, Frank was recognized as Tillsonburg's Citizen of the Year. The Province of Ontario honoured Frank as a Senior Achievement Award recipient in 2005. He had his private pilot's license and enjoyed his involvement with the Tillsonburg Flying Club. Until recently, he was a member of the Tillsonburg Golf and Country Club. His greatest joy though was his family and particularly his grandchildren and great granddaughter in whose activities and accomplishments he was always interested and proud. DONOHUE FUNERAL HOME, 362 Waterloo St at King Street on Monday, June 28th from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Peter's Basilica, Dufferin Avenue at Richmond St., London, on Tuesday morning, June 29th at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery, London.
