Merkley At home surrounded by family on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 Elmer P. Merkley in his 74th year. Cherished husband of 51 years of Anna (Miller) Merkley. Beloved son of Marie and the late William Merkley of Wingham. Proud and loved father of Dean Merkley (Olga) of Laredo, Texas, Jo-Anne Merkley (Tom Quirico) and Janice Hawkes (Stephen), both of London. Predeceased by his son Murray (1975). Much loved grandpa of Steve, Greg, Scarlett , and Jacque, Amanda and Heather, Jordan, Brandon, Taylor and Ethan. Dear brother of Ernie (deceased) (Rita), Pauline Bennett (Ron), Harley (Barb), George (Phyllis) and Sharon Adams (Jim). Dear son-in-law of the late Harry and Verna Miller. Dear brother-in-law of Chap Miller (deceased) (Isabelle), Beda Willie (Clayton), George Miller (Carol) and Bonnie Falconer (Garry). Loved father-in-law of Lydia Merkley and Glen Quann. Dear nephew of Marjorie Thompson and George Miller. Uncle Elmer will be missed by several nieces and nephews. Elmer worked for the M.T.O. for 32 years, starting out at the Putnam Scales and retiring as the Director of Compliance. Elmer served on the boards of the C.N.I.B. and St. Peter's Cemetery for many years. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock and Monday morning at St. Michael's Church, 515 Cheapside Street from 10 o'clock until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Sunday evening at 7 o'clock. Donations to the London Regional Cancer Program, c/o London Health Sciences Foundation would be appreciated.
