MOTTRAM, GEORGE EDWARD
Passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, January 25, 2008, George Edward Mottram of London in his 84th year. Beloved and cherished husband of Rita (nee Kelly) formerly of Stratford and dearly loved father of Larry, Mary Lou Cortese (Len) of Windsor, David of Milton, Barbara Esposti (Anthony) of Ottawa. Dear grandfather of Luca Cortese. Loving brother to Edna Mottram of London. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents William and Agnes Mottram and brother Garnet. Faithful parishioner of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church: Parish Council, Pastoral Council, Eucharistic Minister, Past Grand Knight (Knights of Columbus), Mission Committee and St. Vincent de Paul. Longstanding and accomplished career of more than forty years in the Administration of the London Roman Catholic School Board. Committed Board Member of the Monsignor Feeney Foundation. Respected member of the greater London community, named to the London Mayor's Honour List (1992), Chairman of Celebrate 2000, Secretary of the Ecumenical Commission of the Diocese of London, Past President of the Irish Benevolent Society, instrumental in the establishment of the John Howard Society (London Chapter) and commentator for the Live Radio Broadcast of St. Peter's Cathedral Basilica's Christmas Midnight Mass. In addition to his love of family, faith and community, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of life including long walks and engaging conversation. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Monday evening from 7-9 o'clock and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Church, 777 Valetta Street on Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Monsignor Feeney Education Foundation would be appreciated.
