It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Antonio "Tony" Ielapi, of London in his 66th year. Born in Italy on July 27, 1942. Antonio's battle with pancreatic cancer lasted 2 years and was fought with courage and strength. It ended on August 9th, 2007, at University Hospital surrounded by his family. Beloved husband for 41 years of Maria (Malacaria) Ielapi. Much loved father of Franco and Carrie Ielapi, and Domenic and Effi Ielapi. Cherished grandfather of Elizabeth, Connor and Brandon. Predeceased by his parents Domenico and Barbara (Rondinelli) Ielapi, and brother Francescoantonio (Maria) Ielapi, and sister Carmela (Vincenzo) Bilotta. Survived by his brothers Fortunato (Anna) Ielapi, and Giuseppe (Vittoria) Ielapi; his sisters Concetta (Tomasso) Fruci, Caterina (Giuseppe) Gugliotta, and Filomena (Francesco) Buccina, his brother-in-law Vincenzo (Enrica) Malacaria and his sisters-in-law; Angela (Antonino) Stillitano, Carmela (Franco) Serafini, and Barbara (Pasquale) Vecchio; and by many nieces and nephews.
Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, London on Saturday from 7-9 o'clock and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 o'clock. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church 345 Lyle Street at York Street on Monday morning August 13, 2007 at 10 o'clock. Entombment Holy Family Mausoleum at St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the London Regional Cancer Centre. Prayers Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock.
