Obituary of Randolphe J. H. Bertrand

We are reminded to cherish our remaining days each and every one when we hear news of a terminal diagnosis. On Tuesday August 31st at the age of 81, our time to be with our Dad, Randolphe Bertrand came to an end. During the year of their 62nd wedding anniversary, wife Camilla is left to treasure a lifetime shared. Thankful for the final gift of these last months that were spent in his company, we his children Jackie Dix (Bruce Jackson), Carolyn (Al Leggo predeceased), Randy & Anne, Anne Marie (Jeff Morrow) surrender him without regret. Our brother and sister Gregory and Marguerite who were called to heaven as infants are happy to be with Dad now. One of the greatest gifts of Dad's life was sharing in the endeavours of his grandchildren Jason Dix (Lynn), Jennifer & Michael Gordon, Jeffery Dix, Darryl McGivery, Greg McGivery (Annette), Lisa & Todd Richter, Stacie & Nathan Brittain, Sara Somerville, Michelle Somerville (Nathan), and Craig Somerville (Jaime). He especially enjoyed his visits with great grandchildren Joma , Damon, Emily, Caitlin, Abby, Sienna and Madison. Dad's vision of heaven is to be reunited with his loved ones who predeceased him: his Dad Gregory, Mom Roseanna and brother Albert . Dad 's family lived in many northern Ontario communities and he settled in Capreol where he worked for the Town and the CNR and the mine. London became his home in 1967 when he was hired as a millright at Wolverine Tube, work he thoroughly enjoyed throughout his many years there. His passion for learning and water and life continued until he drew his last breath. He will be missed. Visitors will be received at the John T.
