Obituary of James Douglas McColman
McColman, Doug
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of James Douglas "Doug" McColman on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 in his 61st year, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, he found peace. Doug was a much loved son, brother, uncle, great-uncle and a genuine and loyal friend to so many people. He is survived by his sister Ruth and brother-in-law Ted King of London; nephew James Fournie and his late wife Julia of Vancouver; niece Chelsey and her husband David Henderson and his great-nephew Zachary Douglas Henderson of London. With his quick wit and generous spirit, Doug had a natural gift of making friends wherever he went, and will be truly missed by many, near and far. He will be fondly remembered by his close friends in Salt Spring Island and Sooke, B.C. where he often went on holiday to relax near the water. Doug had a great sense of humour and truly loved the simple things in life ... cooking, movies, concerts, singing, playing guitar, and listening to his extensive music collection. He enjoyed relaxing on his backyard deck and took pleasure in welcoming those he loved into his home. A celebration of Doug's life will be held on Wednesday, November 13th from 2-4 pm at the London Music Club, 371 Colborne Street. To honor Doug's love of animals, donations in his memory to your local Animal Rescue would be appreciated. (John T. Donohue Funeral Home)
