Obituary of Hazel Jean Miller

At South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Thursday, April 13, 2006, Hazel Jean ( Rookie ), dear wife of the late Herb Miller, in her 88th year. Beloved mother of Judy (Wayne), Paul, Patty (Nigel), Scott ( Lena) and Laurie. Proud grandmother of Ryan, Sean, Chad and Stan.
Predeceased by by her parents Jack and Mary O'Rourke, her sister Eleanor O'Rourke and her brother Archie in infancy. Also predeceased by her brother-in-law Jack Miller. Hazel was a graduate of the Royal Jubilee Hospital School of Nursing in Victoria, B.C. (1942). She was commissioned a Second Lieutenant Nursing Sister in the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps. (1944). Hazel was a nurse at Westminster Veteran's Hospital for over 40 years. Retirement came unexpectedly when the hospital discovered she was a few years past 65. Hazel said " But I'm only 67! ". Hazel was a primary life member of the I.O.D.E. and received her 50 year pin. She was also a charter member of the Roadrunners Club of Grand Bend. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, London on Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 o'clock where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock with Reverend Canon Beverley Wheeler officiating.
