Obituary of Tommaso Giampa

(add photo) GIAMPA, Tommaso- Suddenly on October 13, 2013 at L.H.S.C. Victoria Hospital surrounded by family, Tommaso Giampa passed away at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Elisabetta. Devoted father of Franco and his wife Shelly, Maria Grazia Giampa and her husband Brian Smith, Tina Morgan and her husband Brad, and Tommaso Giampa. Cherished Nonno of Brittany, Robert, Karsten, Jacob, Kira, Caleb and Olivia. Dear brother of Maria Satraniti, Giuseppe Giampa and Soccorsa Pugliese, all in Italy and the late Antonio, Francesco and Carmela. Survived by his sisters-in-law Giovanna Frijia (late Elia), Maria Currado (Sebastiano), Assunta Lorusso (late Dominico) and brother-in-law Giuseppe Galera (Margaret); and by his extended family in Canada, Switzerland and Italy. Predeceased by his parents Francesco and Maria Grazia Giampa. Born in Curinga, Italy, Tommaso was a proud Canadian. As a Swiss-Trained Master Gardener, Tommaso's passion was all things green. A student of life, he enjoyed books, music, dancing, good food and wine, and hearty conversations. His greatest love was reserved for his wife, children and his 7 grandchildren who always brought a sparkle to his eye. A heartfelt thanks to the L.H.S.C. family who provided sensitive care at all times. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street on Tuesday from 7-9 and Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 o'clock. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 345 Lyle Street at York Street on Thursday morning October 17, 2013 at 11 o'clock. Entombment in Holy Family Mausoleum at St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Donations may be made to L.H.S.C. Foundation or to the St. Mary's Church Restoration Fund.
