Obituary of Slavko Gasparovic

Gasparovic

Slavko Gasparovic beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in his home at the age of 73. Born May 3, 1932, Slavko came to Canada from Croatia, the homeland he loved. Here, he built a solid family on a foundation of honour, honesty and commitment. He was a master craftsman of great skill, a lover of life and a generous soul. A man, who's pleasure and pride in life was unselfishly giving his time and skills to any of his dear friends, church and community. He is survived by his loving wife Theresa, sons Steve, Walter and Darcy, his grandchildren "his little jewels", Kiefer and Leah and his daughters in law, Patti and Mimi. His brother Dragon in Saskatoon and sister Zora in Josepdol, Croatia, and countless other relatives. His strength, warmth, wisdom and humour will be missed but never forgotten, and are the building blocks of our lives. He will continue to live in all our hearts like a guiding light. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Mass at St. Leopold Mandic Church, 2889 Westminster Drive, on Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Entombment in Holy Family Mausoleum, St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Friday evening at 8 o'clock. In lieu of flowers please send donations in Slavko's name to the St. Leopold Mandic Croatian Church Restoration Fund, 2889 Ernest Avenue, PO Box 9060, London, ON, N6E 2V0 or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
