Obituary of Olive Celine Doyle

Olive Celine Doyle (nee Sadlier), 18 January 1928 - 25 August 2005 With the greatest sadness, the family of Olive Celine Doyle announces her passing on 25 August 2005. At the end, Olive slipped quietly away, with her sisters Eileen Fagan of Ireland and Dolores Willis of England at her side. Her last weeks were spent with many members of her far-flung family and circle of friends, and we know that made her happy and peaceful. Olive spent the last years of her life gracefully fighting several extremely difficult battles, while always maintaining her lifelong commitment to independence. Always ready to offer help, she was staunchly determined to accept little for herself. Born late in the queue to a large, happy family in Dublin, Ireland, Olive grew up and lived well-loved. She was passionate about music, and is known to all her friends and family as a shy but beautiful singer. She was devoted to her God in her quiet way. Naturally, she had a career (ever independent), and her work as a nurse satisfied her need to give for many years. To the very end of her life, she practised her greatest pleasure - travelling. It's only a month since she returned from a wonderful visit to Ireland. Olive's passing was, in the end, just as she wanted; quiet, safe, and peaceful. Her family extends its sincerest thanks to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Parkwood Hospital for making this possible, and welcoming us (even to letting us camp out) as if we were at home. Farewell, our sweetest Olive of the laughing eyes; we will miss you always. "Abhaile do mo chroi". Visitors will be received at John T.
