Obituary of Gilbert DiFede

DiFede Peacefully surrounded by his loving and supportive family at home on Monday June 13, 2005, Mr. Gilbert DiFede of London in his 79th year passed away. Cherished husband to Louisa. Beloved father to Marlena Whiting and Anthony DiFede and to his son in law Larry Whiting and dear friend of Anthony, Bridget Viscomi. Cherished grandfather to Bobi-Jo and Chad Van Meen, Derek Whiting and great grandfather to Zachary Van Meen. Dear brother of Carla, Petrizia and Eugenia brother in law to Nicoletta, Carlo, Franco, Maria and Angelina. Predeceased by his sister Filomena and brother Antonio. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Gilbert worked at Victoria Hospital from May 1956 and retired in November 1983. He will be greatly missed by friends and family. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Wednesday June 15th from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Mass at St. Patrick's Church, 377 Oakland Avenue at Dundas Street, on Thursday morning June 16th at 11 o'clock. Entombment in Holy Family Mausoleum, St. Peters's Cemetery.
