Lillian Leaver

Obituary of Lillian Gertrude Leaver

Leaver Lillian Gertrude Leaver (nee McGee) died peacefully in her eighty-third year at St. Joseph's Hospital, London on Tuesday, December 9, 2003 after a brief illness. Beloved wife for sixty-four years of Eric William Leaver, beloved mother and best friend of Susan Elizabeth D'Alton Scott (nee Leaver), beloved daughter of Michael McGee (deceased) and Alice McGee (nee King) (deceased) and beloved by many friends in London, Ontario and Toronto. Above all, Lillian valued her family, friends, and pets Scooter and Barney. She created a beautiful home and was a talented craftsperson, excellent bridge player, gourmet cook, and superb hostess. Her sense of humour, ability to listen, curiosity, and love of life kept her young-at-heart and endeared her to those of all ages. She will be deeply missed. Lillian's family would like to thank the nurses and doctors in the St. Joseph's emergency room and A6 nursing station for their compassion and care during Lillian's illness. They made the unbearable, bearable. Lillian will be cremated privately and a reception to celebrate her life will take place at a later date. For those wishing to honour Lillian, please make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation, or Parkwood Hospital Foundation. A tree will be planted in Lillian's memory. (John T. Donohue Funeral Home, London)
