Obituary of Agnes Cecilia Mackey
Mackey
On Wednesday July 9, 2003 Agnes Cecilia (Johnston) Mackey, in her 84th year. Agnes will be sadly missed by her loving son Val, his wife Annabelle, and her precious grandchildren, Paul and Elizabeth. She will also be greatly missed by "special" daughter Loralee Aarts, as well as Kevin, Ryan and Jonathan Aarts. Predeceased by husband Joe (1977) and close companion Jack Love (1993). Also predeceased by brothers Frank, Gerald, and Austin, and sisters Mary Clark and Louise McFarlane. Survived by brothers Ignatius "Nish" Johnston (Helen), Jim Johnston and Tony Johnston (Marion) and by sisters Madeline Hambly, Josephine Nichols, Ilene Moir and Teresa Dielman (Abe), and by brother-in-law Jim Mackey (Phyllis). Agnes was a member of the Blessed Sacrament parish choir for many decades, and always served her God and her church with great dedication and love. Her grandchildren will remember a youthful grandma who would play basketball with them well into her 70's and always offered no-nonsense advice. Agnes' generous spirit was evident years ago at the family farm when all her nieces and nephews could count on her donning her Santa outfit year after year. Aggie, you will be missed, your absence sorely felt, yet we will also fondly remember your kindness, love, generosity and wit. Go in peace with God and watch upon those who love you and miss you. Visitors will be recieved at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Stree at King Street, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1057 Oxford Street E., on Friday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Thursday evening at 7 o'clock.
