Obituary of Dermot Francis O'Flynn

O'Flynn Suddenly at London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Campus, on Friday June 13, 2003 Dermot Francis O'Flynn in his 72nd year. Beloved husband and soul mate of Marilyn O'Flynn, and predeceased wife Teresa. Adored father of Bernadette, Emer, Valerie and Neave and step-father of Stacey, Brad and Taunya. Will be sadly missed by sons-in-law David Palmer, Carmen Tornabuono and Kelvin Wheeler. Lovingly remembered by Julian Mills, Alex Ferrador and Helen Kipp. Loved by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Survived by brothers Richard (Ireland) and Sean (Vancouver B.C.) and his sisters Maire (Ireland), Margaret (Seattle, Wash) and Sister Mairead of Dominican Convent, Ireland. A respected and loved teacher, Dermot inspired thousands of students to seek a love of learning, literature, and life. From his thought provoking "Quotations of the Day", on the boards of Catholic Central, Wheable, Central Seconday School, Westminster Secondary School, Saunders Secondary School, Oakridge Secondary School, and Weldon Park Academy, to his commitment and dedication to full scale theatre productions, debating and writing competitions, cancer campaigns, sports teams, field trips, Reach for the Top, media clubs, school newspapers and yearbooks, Dermot encouraged all to believe that "Every day, in every way, we are better and better." Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Saturday evening from 7-9 o'clock and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Mass at St. Patrick's Church, 377 Oakland Ave., on Monday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Sunday evening at 7 o'clock.
